Countryside Cafe is a family-owned restaurant in Ooltewah, TN, known for its Southern comfort food and catering services. They needed an updated website that reflected their commitment to quality food and customer service. Their existing website lacked a clear design and structure, making it difficult for customers to navigate and find information about their menu and catering services. Countryside also sought a more coherent online presence and identity to attract new customers and boost their brand recognition in the community.

I took direction from the owner to develop a custom design that showcases Countryside Cafe's menu offerings and celebrates their history and accolades. It was important that the design be simple enough to honor Countryside's small-town legacy, but to also develop their look and features to accommodate contemporary brand and technology standards. The design features are simple and easy to understand with playful details that parallel Countryside's focus on quality and reflect their vision of a beloved family-owned restaurant that endures from the 20th Century well into the 21st.
Flexible Branding
Countryside's pre-existing brand materials lacked a strong sense of cohesion, with many of their signs, ads, and menus using different type and symbology. But this hodge-podge of homegrown flair is what gives Countryside Cafe part of its charm. I worked with owner to develop a larger brand umbrella that could accommodate a mix of styles and "in-restaurant" designs.
